From every order placed with us, we donate the cost of planting a new tree to the Size of Wales Tree Planting Project.

Since launching in 2010 Size of Wales has supported 2.4 million hectares of tropical forest and supported over 43,000 people from forest communities. Just in Wales, they have inspired over 32,000 children and young people on rainforest and climate change issues and reached millions of people in Wales and across the world with their message through press, radio, television and social media work as well as quarterly fundraising campaigns.

See below for further information on this fantastic project

THE ISSUE

Deforestation and degredation of the world’s forests causes more CO2 emissions than all the world’s transport combined (meaning planes, trains, cars, vans and ships!). Size of Wales works with forest projects in Africa and South America to help conserve existing tropical forests and support sustainable management of forests. All their projects work directly with forest communities in country. The projects in South America currently equal over 2 million hectares, and they are now aiming to protect another 2 million hectares in Africa. Find out more about the projects they work with on the project map on our homepage.

They also work with a flagship tree planting project which aims to plant 10 Million Trees and increases forest cover in Uganda. This project also plants a tree for every child born or adopted in Wales, as part of the Welsh Government’s innovative Plant! scheme. For more information on the Plant! scheme see here.   THE IDEA After a long history of deforestation in Wales, Wales is now gradually increasing its forest cover and protecting the existing woodland. However, from both a climate change and poverty reduction perspective, it is the destruction of forests in the tropics which truly threatens the world’s climate, as well as the basic needs of food, shelter and livelihoods for people living there. Initially set up by  the Commissioner for Sustainable Futures, Peter Davies and Chair of the Waterloo Foundation, Heather Stevens, as part of Wales’ response to the dual challenges of climate change and international poverty reduction, Size of Wales is now an independent charity.

Forests are key to mitigating against the impacts of climate change by absorbing the carbon dioxide we emit. Despite this, up to 12 million hectares of tropical forest is destroyed each year! As much as 25% of global carbon emissions is caused by the destruction of the tropical forest, this is greater than the carbon emitted by all the worlds transport combined.

Each of their projects works closely with the indigenous communities who live in and depend upon the forests for their livelihoods. Indigenous peoples often have a sacred connection to these forests and have lived sustainably with these forests for centuries making them the best conservationists of all! The projects work to empower these communities in a way that enables them to protect these precious forests.

Returns policy

If you have received a faulty product, please let us know straight away by emailing us at sales@bebraveandchange.com. Please attach any photos of the fault on the email. Please ensure you do not ride the scooter as once you have ridden the scooter if broken, we are unable to replace the item.

If you decide to change your mind after ordering your scooter, you have a maximum of 14 days from the moment you receive the goods to inform us. It is very important that the product must be unused. If we can see evidence of the scooter having been used, we will not be able to process a return. You will be responsible for the return of the electric scooter back to our UK warehouse. If there is evidence of the scooter having been used, you may be charged a restocking fee.

If your electric scooter develops a manufacturing fault through normal use (as outlined in the manufacturer’s manual) within 30-days of receiving the product, then please email us at sales@bebraveandchange.com, quoting your order number, attaching a photo of the electric scooter and the fault details. We will arrange for it to be returned to us for repairs before returning the electric scooter to you.

With the above in mind, please ensure to keep hold of your scooter or bike box in case it needs to be repaired or serviced.

Warranty

All of our scooters come with a minimum of 12-month warranty. This warranty starts from the date of purchase. Unlike other sellers, your scooter does not need to be sent back to China for repair and we will arrange all repairs in the UK. We hold most of the spare parts in the UK and hold stock here in the UK. If we are required to order anything from outside of the UK, we will make you aware.

Please see the specific warranty of each brand below:

12 months- Ducati, Lamborghini, VR46, Aprilia, Nanrobot, Alfa Romeo, Jeep, Argento

2 years- 8TEV, AER Electric, Swifty

Please note that punctures are not covered by warranty. If we receive a scooter back for repair or return with a puncture there is a £25 installation charge, plus the cost of the tyre for that particular scooter.

Warranties are commonly voided if they are misused or used outside of the directions of the manual and/or the warranty. Reasons for this can include riding an e-scooter on unsuitable terrain, in the rain, or modifying it or carrying out non-approved repairs. Please check the instructions of your specific product as the details can change between brands and products.

Our after-sale assistance does not include faults that have been caused by:

  • lack of maintenance and/or use of the products that is not in compliance with the provided instructions booklet
  • collisions, accidental falls, crashes or punctures of the products
  • use, exposure or storage of the products in an inappropriate environment (rain, mud, exposure to moisture or excessive heat, contact with sand or other substances)
  • lack of adjustment of the mechanical parts of the products and failure to regulate for “putting on the road”
  • lack of maintenance or improper use of the battery of the products
  • natural wear of wearable materials or caused by assembly mistakes of the parts
  • improper use of the products
  • maintenance, repairs and/or technical interventions carried out by unauthorized third parties
  • use of non-original spare parts of the products

If the scooter comes back to us, and there are no faults found or warranty void. The customer will be liable for the costs of shipping the scooter both ways.

A quick note on e-scooter boxes

Please don't be alarmed if it looks like your box has been opened and resealed. This is for several reasons. Firstly, we sell predominantly European scooter brands, so often the scooters come with an EU plug. We have to open the boxes to add a UK plug. We don't remove the EU plug so you are given suitable plugs for both the UK and EU. This means if you're travelling to Europe in the summer and are planning to take your e-scooter with you, you'll have a suitable charger.

Our products have usually been shipped from Asia or Europe. Before they are delivered to you, they sometimes have to be checked by UK customs and our own quality control team. This means that the box will have been opened so please keep this in mind.

Finally, similarly to car batteries, if e-scooters sit unused and uncharged for too long, this can damage the long term battery health. If an e-scooter has been in our possession for several months, we have to open the box to charge the scooter. This ensures you are getting a scooter that's in perfect condition that will last you for many years to come!

The boxes sometimes have a little bit of wear and tear, but that doesn't damage the goods inside which are very well protected with additional packaging inside the box. Some of our products have a box within the outer box for additional protection.
